We were put into different groups
and had to film a student speaking into the camera to test out how different
rooms sounded when one person was talking. The first place we went to was the
class room which is pretty spacious but still blocked in so when the sound
waves came from the persons mouth they still bounced off the walls but weakly
because it was a big room. The second place we went to was a lift which is
small space so when the person talked it was more clear because the sound waves
could bounce off the walls very quickly. The third place we went to was the
stairwell this was a very open space so the sound waves were able to travel
away without bouncing off anything. The surface properties have a big part in
this sound waves would be able to bounce of normal walls but if you put
something up on the wall like a notice board then it would soak the waves up
and it would not bounce back.
•Different rooms have different
acoustics because the size of the rooms and the objects that are in the room.
