Today we learned about decibels. The class got decibel measures up on our phones and we recorded the decibel of how much sound the room tone made. The stats or listed above in the graph. We then recorded sound from 6 different positions. The first position turned out to be the loudest because it was the closest to the sound source. The other five dropped in decibels as the sound dropped in energy until the decibel reader reached the room tone.

This is what happens when you spray a bottle of liquid on something from a short distance away, it focuses on one point of the piece of paper. This works the same for sound waves, the closer it is the better quality.

Spraying a bottle of liquid from a further distance away causes the spray to come out in splatters. Sound waves do the same the further away the sound source is the less clear the audio will be.
Inverse square low of sound means that the decidables drop by 6 every time the distance has decreased by itself.. example.
